Pico Ultra 4

The Pico Ultra 4 Will Be Another Great Option for VR

For the longest time, we didn’t have many options for a great VR headset. The Meta Quest 2 and 3 dominate the market, but that could change. The Pico Ultra 4 is set to be another great VR option, releasing September 20.

The new model will have two 32MP cameras on the front, giving high-resolution color passthrough. The screens themself have a 1920 x 1920 display size, with a 90hz refresh rate. This is all thanks to a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, and 12GB of RAM.

The Pico Ultra 4 also allows you to use the cameras, shooting video at a resolution of 2048 x 1536. However, we highly doubt anyone will bring this outside to take video.

It also has mixed-reality, allowing you to work and play in your own environment. One mixed-reality game we found interesting is Spatial Ops, which is a first-person shooter.

Other neat features include the PICO Motion Tracker, which sounds like it will help you keep active. You can also mirror screens to the device, thanks to a Connect App.

With all these great features, the Pico Ultra 4 could be a serious competitor to the Quest 3. It will cost you a bit extra, for $695 (£529/$1025 AU).

We ourselves are great fans of VR – There are plenty of games, and it can also provide great social experiences.
