During Apple’s Glowtime event, the company has finally revealed the Apple iPhone 16. It’s the company’s best phone yet, powered by Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 16 will come in a wide variety of colors. It’s also the first iPhone to come with Apple Intelligence, an AI-powered feature. The main promise we saw here was using the camera. You can scan things such as posters to add things to your calendar, and learn more about restaurants by snapping a photo. There will be more features , these are just what we saw in the demo.
The screen on the standard edition will be 6.1 inches wide, while the 16 Plus gets a 6.7″ display. Both of them can reach 2000 nits of brightness.
You also get a dedicated camera button. Upon pressing the button, the camera will open. You can press it again to take a photo, or hold it down to take video. Upon pressing it lightly twice,more advanced controls will show. Alongside that, you also get a “action” button which lets you create a shortcut to an app or task.
Oh, and the iPhone 16 camera is 48MP. The ultra-wide camera has also been updated, to include auto-focus. Apple also said he sensor can capture 2.6x more light.
In terms of hardware, you get a new A18 chip. The chip has an in-house neural network, allowing artificial intelligence to run. The chip also ensures longer battery life – Apple claims the chip is 30% faster than the iPhone 15. The new GPU also contributes to this, with power efficiency improving by 35%.
The iPhone 16 starts at $799 with 128GB, with the iPhone 16 Plus costing $899 with 128GB as well. However, the Pro does have features such as 4K 120FPS video shooting. Color options include white, black, ultramarine blue, teal green, and pink. The 16 Pro starts at $999 with 128GB, and the 16 Pro Max will cost $1199 an will have 256GB of storage.
Also today Apple has revealed the Airpods 4, which are the best-fitting earbuds they made so far.
