Ahead of the iPhone 16 launch, Apple is launching the highly anticipated updated iOS 18. They have also released a list of features coming to the next version.
One of the big features here is Apple Intelligence, which has tools such as Writing Tools, Image Playground, changes to Siri, and more.
iOS 18 also comes with more customization features, such as better placement of app icons. Icons will also automatically adjust to dark mode, and you can toggle them manually. A new photos app is here, too. The design puts everything in a single view, with the photo grid at the top and organized collections below. Other new photo features include wallpaper suggestions, collections, and a clean up tool.
Messages will also have some changes – you can SMS over satellite, and use new animated effects on your messages. Apple will also allow you to send messages up to 100MB now, as well as scheduling text messages.
Other notable iOS 18 features include changes to SharePlay, Spacial Audio on CarPlay, and Eye Tracking accessibility features. The Spacial Audio only works with compatible vehicles, with Apple Music and some 3rd party apps.
