SmartThings Family Care

Samsung SmartThings Family Care Will Help Care For Elderly

Samsung has announced SmartThings Family Care, a new service that is tailored to elderly people who need help with daily activities.

Starting August 16, the U.S. SmartThings app will have new features such as schedule management, activity notifications, medication reminders, and location-based care.

According to Samsung, Family Care was developed to “address the persistent, real-world challenges families face in a rapidly aging society”. The tools will integrate advanced AI technology, to provide smarter solutions that enhance the quality of life for customers and loved ones.

One of the features, activity notifications, will send notifications to caregivers if any abnormalities are detected in their loved ones daily routine. The medication reminders will also be helpful. Family members can receive reminders to check blood pressure, blood sugar, and schedule appointments through the smartphone. Finally, Location-Based Care will notify caregivers when someone arrives or leaves a location.

These are all great ideas. It’s nice to see companies making steps towards helping people with help – Yesterday, we also made big leaps in health with Google with the Pixel Watch 3.
